The Mirage

The Mirage can be considered as the top ranking casino-hotel situated at Las Vegas Strip.  The casino was designed by Joel Bergman.   A tram connects The Mirage casino with Treasure Island casino.  The most fascination aspect of the architecture of this casino is the biggest free standing marquee in front of the casino itself.  The money from the junk bonds from Wall Street was used to finance the construction of this casino.   A total of more than 630 million dollars were spent on its construction and it was opened for public in 1989. The entire construction of this hotel contains a lot of gold.  Even the windows of this hotel are tinted with the gold dust.

The Mandalay Bay

The Mandalay Bay Resort and casino is situated on The Strip and is managed by MGM Resorts International.  The architecture of this casino is based on South East Asian design.   The Mandalay Bay opened for public in 1996 and has more than twelve thousand square meters of total space.  A convention center with space of 93 thousand square meters was integrated into the original building in 2003.  This resort comprises of ballrooms, shopping mall, restaurants, bars, a marine aquarium and a huge beach.  The Mandalay beach features a wave pool, a waterfall, heated pools, water rides and a swimming pool for the kids.


The opening of Bellagio in 1998 was the mega event in the history of Las Vegas.  This event augured the era of “Mega-resorts” on the Strip.  The majestic fountains selected by Steve Wynn beautify the front of the casino.   The Bellagio also features a conservatory and botanical gardens which take on new colours with each changing season.  There is a large glass sculpture designed by Dale Chihuly above the registration desk.  This casino also features Bellagio Gallery of Fine Arts.  For the players interested in the game of poker, this resort also has a forty table poker room.

Treasure Island

Treasure Island Hotel and Casino is also known as “TI”.  This casino connects with The Mirage casino by a tram and with Fashion Show Mall by a pedestrian bridge.  The hotel of this establishment with four diamond rating is considered as one of the top one, out of the most famous casinos in Las Vegas.    This casino was opened in 1999 even though the construction got completed in 1993.  The cost of this contraction was of more than four hundred and fifty million dollars.  The original architecture was based on pirates theme but was later changed in 2003 to give this casino an adult friendly appearance.  The main attraction of the Treasure Island is the live performance by Cirque du Soleil.  The show programmes hosted by this casino called “Siren Cove” and “The Sirens of TI” are an amalgamation of dance, music and audio visual effects.

Caesars Palace
